Singer Jason Derulo broke up with his girlfriend Jena Frumes just four months after the birth of their first child, son Jason King.
The 32-year-old singer, who celebrated his birthday with his small family three days ago, shared the news on Twitter.
"Jena and I have decided to separate. She is a wonderful mother, but we feel that separation at this point will allow us to be the best version of ourselves and the best parents. Please respect our privacy at this time," the singer said on Twitter.

Fans were surprised by this news because just a few days earlier Jena had written a status bursting with love for Jason Derulo on the occasion of their birthday, as they were both born on the same date.
"Happy birthday, Jason! I am blessed to share a birthday with my love. You are the most handsome, most valuable, most talented, and kindest man ever. You truly make me complete and I am grateful for the love we share. You and our child make me the happiest girl in the world and I can't wait to make new memories with you. I know I'm hard sometimes, but you make me soft and accept me for who I am and I'm forever grateful to you for that. Long live another year! I love you very, forever," Jena wrote at the time, but that post was later deleted, writes the Daily Mail .
Derulo was in a relationship with singer Jordin Sparks for three years before Jena, and he broke up with her in September 2014. Interestingly, fans were also very surprised by their breakup as he had just given her 10,000 orange roses, which were her favorites, for Valentine’s Day just a few months earlier. In an interview, Sparks revealed that their relationship ended in vain after they had a ‘little quarrel’ one night, and the next day she had to go on a trip.
She stated that the night before Derulo had given her a farewell kiss, told her he loved her, and had never called her again. He sent some other person to pick up his things from their shared home.
