It often seems to us that in the 21st century everything is one step away, a click away from us - success, fame, rockstar life... But, no matter how advanced the technology is, we still need those good old characteristics: talent, perseverance, and passion.
Such is the case with British producer, DJ, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter Jax Jones, who possesses all these values. This is evidenced not only by data on 40 million records sold, 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and Grammy nominations but also by lyrics that permeate all aspects of love and life.
Of Turkish and Malaysian descent, Jax was born Timucin Kwong Wah Aluo, but as almost no one could pronounce his name, he gave himself an artistic - Jax Jones, which comes from the East London slang "On your Jack Jones", which symbolizes independence.
The 34-year-old freelance musician started his career from scratch, often performing at Open mic clubs on the outskirts of London, all while studying. After graduating, he rented a studio in London, working on perfecting his production skills, posting his tapes on what was once the largest social network - MySpace.
His dizzying success began with a collaboration with Duke Dumont in 2013 when he co-produced songs that became the world hits "I Got U" and "Ocean Drive". In a very short time, Jax Jones became synonymous with new dance music, surfing on the waves of house and pop.
After that, Jax continued to build his success, but mostly in the shadows, as a producer of various artists, until 2016 when he released "You Don't Know Me", on which the vocalist is the phenomenal British RAYE. One fun fact about this song: Jax sampled the bass line from the song "Body Language" by MANDY and Booka Shade, proving once again his skill of subtle dance between what is considered underground and mainstream.
At the beginning of February this year, he released the song "Where Did You Go? ". This song is a homage to the eurodance genre, which experienced its boom in the late 80s. People then had a collective desire for fun, parties, and joy, just like us today, which Jax pictorially presented in this song.
