Johnny Depp gave his first interview after the scandal: "I'm moving towards a place where I will bring things to light”

"What are the people in Minamata dealing with? People are struggling with COVID? A lot of people have lost their lives, but what I went through ... It's like getting scratched by a kitten," the actor vividly described.

Johnny Depp gave his first interview after the scandal: "I'm moving towards a place where I will bring things to light”

American actor Johnny Depp (58) gave his first interview after a scandal in which his wife, actress Amber Heard (35) accused him of mental and physical abuse. He gave an interview to The Sunday Times, and often spoke in riddles, leaving many of his sentences unfinished. He said he thought Hollywood was boycotting him and opened up about “surreal five years" of his career. Namely, the actor lost his role in the 'Fantastic Beasts' franchise due to the accusations, and his new film 'Minamata' will not be released in the USA either. “This affects people in Minamata and people who experience similar things,” Depp said.

The actor, known for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the popular 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise, further looked back at past events. "But, you know, I'm progressing to where I need to be. To bring all things to light," he was secretive, adding a pause between sentences. "Everything I've been through, I've been through. But, ultimately, this particular arena of my life has been so absurd..." he pointed out.  "What are the people in Minamata dealing with? People are struggling with COVID? A lot of people have lost their lives, but what I went through ... It's like getting scratched by a kitten,” he vividly explained.

Although Hollywood is boycotting him, his fans are still by his side. "I'm proud of these people because what they're trying to get out is the truth that fails to reach the media," Depp said, adding that he still has no plans to stop making films and is looking forward to it. Let us remind you, Heard filed for divorce in 2016, and added a charge of domestic abuse. The actor, on the other hand, claimed that the actress abused him, and the court ruled in her favor.
