Famous Hollywood actor Johnny Depp sold portraits from his debut art collection in record time, making more than $3.6 million in just a few hours, the BBC reported.

The sale of portraits was organized in the London hall "Castle Fine Art", and 780 pieces were exhibited, which were sold in just a few hours, immediately after announcing the start of the sale on Instagram.

Depp included in the art collection "Friends and Heroes" people who inspired him during his career, so there were portraits of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, Hollywood diva Elizabeth Taylor, Oscar winner Al Pacino, as well as iconic singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.

I have always used art as a way to express my feelings, and I did this to show my gratitude to the people who mean the most to me, my family, friends, as well as those whom I have always admired” - said the actor.

In a press release, the gallery noted that the actor's collection is "at the intersection of pop art and street art." The gallery had long awaited for Depp to finally agree to stage an exhibition and sale of his art, and they are in talks with him to host more of his work in the future.

As a reminder, the sale of the portrait followed the end of the court process between Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard, who was convicted of defamation. By the way, Johnny Depp donated money to the hospital that Amber Heard promised to donate. Namely, the actor donated about 800 thousand dollars to various institutions, among them the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, to which Amber previously promised to donate seven million dollars that she received from Johnny Depp in the settlement after the divorce in 2016.

Then she promised to donate the money to charity and divide it between two organizations: the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the aforementioned hospital. It was widely rumored before that neither the ACLU nor the hospital had ever seen Amber's donation.
