Dramatic stories date back to the 1980s
Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual harassment by two men in 2020, but in 1980 when those men were just 14 years old. The first prosecutor is Anthony Rapp, who said earlier that Spacey “tried to seduce” him decades ago when he performed on Broadway as a 14-year-old actor. Rapp claimed that then 26-year-old Spacey invited him to a party in the apartment, in 1986, pushed him onto the bed, climbed on top of him and tried to have sex with him. Rapp said he managed to escape because Spacey was visibly drunk, foreign media reported.
To these accusations, Spacey responded that he was appalled by the story, which he does not even remember because it happened more than 30 years ago. “If it happened as Rapp described it, I owe him the most sincere apology for my drunken and deeply inappropriate behavior,” Spacey wrote on his Twitter account.
As part of the apology, Spacey then publicly announced that he was gay, which angered many in the LGBT community and beyond, who described his "coming out of the closet" as an attempt to divert attention from Rapp's accusations.
The second plaintiff is identified only as CD, which says he met Spacey in 1981 as a student in his acting class when he was 12 years old. According to information received the two met again when the CD was 14, Spacey then allegedly invited him to his apartment where the CD had sex with the actor and orally satisfied him. According to the lawsuit, the two had sex on multiple occasions, but in a recent encounter, the CD said Spacey tried to have sex with him again. However, the whole drama ended with the CD saying "no" to the actor several times, so he managed to break free and escape from the apartment.
A series of allegations of sexual harassment
Rapp and CD later received psychological damage, including "suffered emotional pain, humiliation, fear, depression and anxiety" due to Spacey's abuse. Kevin Spacey has faced criminal and civil charges in Nantucket, Massachusetts, and Los Angeles. The Nantucket- Spacey case was dismissed in July 2019 for the “unavailability of a complaining witness”. An unnamed prosecutor claimed Spacey groped him at a bar in Nantucket three years ago. Late last year, Spacey settled that sexual assault lawsuit with an unidentified massage therapist who said the actor twice forced him to touch his genitals during a massage in Malibu.
The man passed away earlier in 2019 from undiscovered causes, his lawyer claims. Kevin Spacey is also being investigated by Scotland Yard on six charges of sexual harassment and assaults that allegedly took place in London while the actor was artistic director of the Old Vic Theater from 2004 to 2015.
Spacey has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct since Rapp first spoke in 2017. But most prosecutors have remained anonymous. Spacey was under investigation in Los Angeles and was prosecuted in Nantucket, but each of those cases was dismissed. The production house behind the "House of Cards" series, starring Spacey, has won a $ 31 million lawsuit against Spacey and his companies. Namely, it was concluded that the actor violated the policy of that production company, which is related to sexual harassment.
