Michael Owen spoke about his daughter

Everyone was waiting for his reaction and he finally spoke up. Michael Owen, a former footballer and English national team player admitted that he was afraid to watch his daughter Gemma (19) kiss and share a bed with strange men in the new season of the British version of the reality show "Love Island".

In this show, scantily clad, scrawny and well-built handsome young people live in a luxurious villa and seek love under the watchful eye of numerous cameras. There are feelings, drama, quarrels, subterfuge, stupidity and false spontaneity in tons. And sex under the sheets. Every season, there is someone among the contestants who is, for example, famous for something - from the children of actors and athletes to former members of obscure bands. This year it’s young Gemma.

Owen, a retired football player is not very happy.'I asked Louise if they really had to sleep together, in the same bed. She said, 'Yes.' I said, 'I didn't count on it,' 'Owen said. Despite his anger over sharing the bed, the footballer admitted he was quite happy because Gemma didn’t make “physical contact” with Davide.

'I think I'll throw something on the TV screen. I don't want to see them kissing. Don't make me watch it! ' said the footballer and added that kissing was one of his daughter's biggest worries when she entered the villa in Mallorca.

'I didn't know anything about the show, but I was worried that she would have to kiss one, the other, then the next man. My wife told me that there is a chance that she will have to dance some type of lap dance which will surely make her uncomfortable. I don't know, I guess it will be more relaxed as time goes on ' said the footballer.

His daughter on the show was initially “connected” to contestant Liam Llewellyn, 22, but she was soon spotted by Davide Scalimentti, an Italian living in Manchester. She didn't stay with him either and at the end of the week she ended up with 23-year-old Luca Bish.

Gemma Owen is the youngest contestant this season and one of the youngest in general since this rather controversial show existed. She only recently turned 19.
