A trailer for the television movie "Mr. Monk's Last Case" is finally released.
This December, the iconic television detective Monk is returning to the small screen, and these days we got the chance to see the first trailer. The television film "Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie" brings Adrian Monk ( Tony Shalhoub ) back to the case with his unparalleled crime-solving skills. This movie follows Monk, a brilliant detective who has obsessive-compulsive disorder.
In the new story, the private detective will find himself on a very personal case that involves his stepdaughter Molly ( Caitlin McGee ). She is a journalist and in this movie, she is preparing for her wedding. In this trailer, we have the opportunity to find out how Monk, an extreme germophobe, survived the coronavirus pandemic. This definitely sounds like his worst nightmare.
In an official statement, the upcoming film's writer Andy Breckman, and director David Hoberman revealed that the film will definitely address the changes the world has gone through in the 14 years since the show ended its run:
"It's been almost 14 years since we had a chance to see Monk on the small screen. The world has changed a lot since then and Monk 2023 reflects those changes. We're thrilled to make a film version of Monk and delighted that all the original stars have enthusiastically agreed to return to their roles. Mr. Monk's Last Case is a story that is powerful, emotional, funny, warm, and has something to say about the human condition. It will be both familiar and full of surprises." they stated for foreign media.
In addition to Shalhoub, who returns in the title role, the new film will also star Ted Levine, Jason Gray-Stanford, Traylor Howard, Melora Hardin, Hector Elizondo, and James Purefoy.
Soon Monk will return to his last case. The release date is December 8 of this year. Don't miss it!
