Allegedly, Kim herself published the controversial video and Ray J claims that he never owned any copy.He also insists that he did nothing of what she accused him of and he was outraged by the statement that he ‘stuck a dildo in her ass’ because it made him sound like a rapist, and that was not true. In a private message sent by Ray J, Kim wrote, "If you're upset about the dildo comment, it's obviously a sarcastic comment and I laughed when I said it."
"I’ve sat in the shadows for over 14 years, allowing the Kardashians to use my name, to take advantage of my name, to make millions of dollars over a decade and a half talking about a topic I’ve never really talked about. I’ve never discovered anything. It was an agreement and a partnership between Kris Jenner, Kim and me, and we've been partners since the beginning of the whole story with that video," Ray J. said.
He and Kim were dating in 2002 when they were 21, and the controversial sex tape was made the same year, on her birthday. It was released to the public in 2007, and everything else is history.
Ray J, now 41, told the media that publishing the footage was his idea and he suggested it to Kim after seeing Paris Hilton's popularity increased after her video with Rick Saloman. And while Kim claims she didn't want to do it, Ray J claims that it was she who accepted the idea and hired her 'momager' Kris Jenner to organize the release of the video via Vivid Entertainment.
The contract signed by Ray J and Kim covered three videos, including two footage of sex, one from a hotel in Mexico, one from Santa Barbara and a third cited as an introduction to the footage made in Mexico. In the end, only the footage from Mexico leaked to the public.
"She kept them all. During our entire relationship, I never owned her. None of them were ever in my house - they were with her," Ray J. said.
