Resident Evil will premiere on the Netflix

The premiere is scheduled for mid-July.

After Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness last year, Netflix will release another series centered in this renowned horror universe in a few weeks. This time, it will be a feature film adaptation, and we now have a better sense of what to expect thanks to two teaser trailers.

The series is simply titled Resident Evil, and it will launch on the Netflix streaming site on July 14th. It will include eight episodes.

The Wesker family is the focus of the new series. We shall see both an outbreak of a sickness that converts humans and animals into zombies, as well as happenings 14 years after the apocalypse.

Among others appearing in the series will be actor Lance Reddick, best known for his work in the John Wick flicks. He will play Albert Wesker, an Umbrella Corporation employee.

As the trailers above indicate, violence will not be spared, and we can expect high-octane combat with zombies and other overgrown monsters. Aside from the survival fight, there is also a family drama.

Resident Evil 7 & Village: VR Mod impresses with motion controls

Resident Evil Village, the horror smash from last year, does not include a VR element, whereas the seventh installment has, but only on Playstation VR. A PC mod alters this.

With its latest modification, the modder "Praydog," who is already recognized for amazing VR mods for Resident Evil 2 and 3, makes Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and Resident Evil Village on the PC fit for virtual reality.

It has full 6DOF support in all directions of movement, and, unlike the PS4 VR version of Part 7, it has VRIK integration for full character display rather than just floating hands, as well as motion controller support.

The "Praydog" mods are supposed to be simple to install and use, but there are a few "visual problems and opportunities for improvement" that should only influence small graphic glitches and so have no effect on the overall experience.

The VR mods for the two games, as illustrated, are set to be published to the public on Github.com in the next weeks and will be free and open source.
