Robbie Williams talks about addiction in the biopic

Despite enormous success in Europe and Asia, the musician is having difficulty breaking into the American market.

Still, Hollywood producers are hoping that a big-budget film about him would be as successful as Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman, films about other prominent British musicians Freddie Mercury and Elton John.

- The filmmakers think that the script – essentially an exciting story about an outsider who catapulted to fame – will really resonate with people, even those in America who may not know much about Robbie himself - said a source for foreign media.

Michael Gracie, who was an executive producer on "Rocketman," directs the picture. The film will chronicle his ascent to popularity with Take That as well as his successful solo career.

The singer said the film, titled "Better Man" after one of his songs, will not be afraid to tackle issues such as addiction.
