Sarah Ferguson honestly about Princess Diana: what Harry's mother would think of Meghan Markle

The Duchess of York and Princess Diana had known each other since their teenage days and were inseparable. As Fergie embarked on a new writing career, she spoke about her friend on that occasion.

Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson practically grew up with Princess Diana, and today she says that the late Lady Di would swell with pride when she could see what kind of men her sons have grown into, as well as because of the women who are their partners.

"She would be very proud of her sons and their wives. And she would be the same as me, obsessed with her grandchildren. Because that's what she loved, she adored my girls. She adored boys. This would be her paradise. Her paradise." said Sarah Ferguson in a great interview with People. The mother of Princess  Eugenie  (31) and  Beatrice  (32) enjoys the role of grandmother and is convinced that Diana would feel the same way.

"She would be extremely proud of her sons and their wives. If she were sitting next to me now, I know she would say, 'I'm very proud of both my boys and the wonderful wives they chose. Because each of them has their own voice,'" she said. The 61-year-old Duchess of York mentioned in an interview Princes  William and  Harry as well as their wives  Kate Middleton and  Meghan Markle.

The Duchess's new career

The Duchess began writing, and her first novel comes out on August 3, the work "Her Heart for a Compass," about a young noblewoman who enters adulthood. Sarah and Diana met as teenagers.

"We've been best friends since she was 14 and I was 15. She taught me so much about public life. She was so brave. Our time together was amazing," said Fergie, for whom Diana had a special nickname, calling her  "Duch" - an abbreviation of the English title for Duchess.

Before the tragic death of Lady Di on the streets of Paris in 1997, the princess and the duchess were inseparable. "We promised each other we would never separate, we were inseparable. But everyone wanted it because we were very strong together. People wanted to break something so strong," Sarah Ferguson concluded.

A close friend and member of the royal family thus once again dispelled all doubts and speculations as to what the late mother of William and Harry would think of their relationship, their wives, and the joint decisions they had made. Just as in life she valued authenticity, courage, and love above all else, so, Fergie believes, Diana would have done the same thing if she were alive today.
