Series based on video games! (PART ONE)
Video games are a new source of inspiration for Hollywood and numerous streaming services in their eternal search for original content.
Video games are a new source of inspiration for Hollywood and numerous streaming services in their eternal search for original content.
Although history has taught us that video game adaptations don't always end well, a lot could change because there is a bunch of new series in the works, behind which are truly talented people who have taken the job seriously. In addition, The Last of Us showed us how not to mess up.
Fallout
What makes "Fallout" special is the specific retrofuturistic vision of the post-apocalypse, which is dominated by references to the fifties of the last century and bunker residents who gradually leave the safety of the shelter and get to know the world that was created on the ruins of a nuclear war.
The series will be developed for Amazon Prime by Lisa Joy (Pushing Daisies, Westworld, Reminiscence) and Jonathan Nolan (Memento, Interstellar and the Batman trilogy he wrote with his brother, the famous director Christopher Nolan).
A Plague Tale

The story is set in France in the 14th century, during the Hundred Years' War, and everything revolves around 15-year-old Amicia de Runa and her brother Hugo, who are trying to escape from the army, members of the Inquisition and hordes of rats that spread the plague.
The story gives enough space for the screenwriters to expand it, upgrade it and turn it into something that will work on small screens maybe even better than in a video game.
The adaptation of the game will be produced by the French media conglomerate Mediawan, which, with the help of the creators of the game, will record the most faithful screen adaptation of the game.
Mass Effect

Although they borrow a lot not only from numerous sci-fi series, movies and books but also from video games, the world of "Mass Effect" is a detailed story that follows Captain Shepard and an army of superbly written interplanetary comrades as they fight against an ancient enemy whose return threatens to destroy the entire galaxy.
It's hard to imagine that a template like this could come to life in any format other than a series. There are rumors that Shepard could be played by Henry Cavill, but all we really know is that the series will be adapted for Amazon.
