The cult horror series Evil Dead is back
Watch the trailer that fans say scared them to death.
So far, four 'Evil Dead films and one TV series have been produced, however, the primary character Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) does not appear in the latest picture.
For thirty years, the cult horror franchise, the equally popular and influential 'Evil Dead,' returns this year with a new sequel that enters theaters in April, and the first teaser trailer was published last night to the pleasure of fans.
It is a film series whose debut episode, released in 1981, launched the careers of director Sam Raimi and actor Bruce Campbell. It grossed over $30 million in theaters and received positive reviews from reviewers.
Raimi has made two more films starring Campbell in the role of the iconic hero Ash Williams, as well as the television series "Ash vs Evil Dead" since then.
'Evil Dead 2', which is now regarded as one of the best horror comedies in history, was released in theaters in 1987 and quickly acquired an army of devoted fans, and the third installment, 'Army Of Darkness,' was shot five years later.
The entire series revolves around the ancient Sumerian literature Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, which is a version of the Book of the Dead that acts as a portal to a dimension teeming with demons.
Raimi's frantic direction, Bruce Campbell's dynamic performance, and twisted dark comedy were all praised in the original trilogy (the scene with the cut-off fist attack in the duo, for example, belongs in the annals of cinema).
The franchise was rebooted in 2013 with Fede Alvarez's film, which generated over a hundred million dollars on a budget of twenty million dollars worldwide, and more importantly, critics praised it as one of the rare reboots worth producing.
The four have abandoned dark humor, and for the first time in the series, there is no Campbell, but the apparently profitable series is back with the fifth episode.
Lee Cronin, a new horror sensation, is the director and screenwriter, and the film, which opens in theaters on April 21, stars Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan, and Morgan Davies. Raimi was not involved in its production.
