The movie about David Bowie Gets First Trailer

Director Brett Morgen, the author of the biographical film about Kurt Cobain (1967-1994), is completing his secret project, the film about David Bowie (1947-2016). According to Variety, this achievement is based on thousands of hours of rare recordings of the legendary Ziggy Stardust, most of which were previously unpublished.

Morgen has been working on a film about Bowie for the last four years, for which the official title is “Moonage Daydream”. A source close to the production enigmatically describes it as "neither a documentary nor a biography, but an impressive cinematic experience built, in part, on thousands of hours of never-before-seen material."

Most importantly, the film was made with the support and cooperation of the David Bowie family. Model Iman, the wife of David Bowie, recently told Variety that the family is firmly against approving a biographical film about Bowie's life:

It's always NO. We always ask each other, "Would he do that?" I don’t think so, as evidenced by Todd Haynes' 1998 film “Velvet Underground”, which features a Bowie-like figure named after one of his songs, but for which Bowie refused to license his music", she said. In conclusion, the family was more in favor of a documentary about the singer-oriented live concert, especially from someone with Morgen's experience. In the trailer, we can see parts of the famous musician's performance.

All fans of David Bowie will be happy to hear that the first trailer of a documentary film about one of the most famous rock musicians, singers, composers, and actors has been released.

The documentary "Moonage Daydream" will not only be based on the career of the famous musician but will explore his creative and spiritual journey. According to Variety, this achievement by director Brett Morgen is based on thousands of hours of rare recordings of the legendary Ziggy Stardust, most of which were previously unpublished.

In the trailer, we can see parts of David Bowie's performance, and according to executive producer and former Warner Bros. president Bill Gerber, the film is "a sonic and visual extravagance to be experienced on the big screen with state-of-the-art audio." The film "Moonage Daydream" contains 48 Bowie songs, and there are never seen recordings from the musicians' concerts.
