The NamX SUV - The biggest problem of hydrogen

There isn't enough lithium to meet the demand for the electric vehicle boom, and hydrogen cars are difficult to sell because they can't be refueled anyplace.

The NamX SUV - The biggest problem of hydrogen

NamX, on the other hand, has devised a clever solution and has commissioned Pininfarina to design a "hydrogen commercial vehicle" so that the concept can be implemented by 2026.

Although many have declared that the hydrogen car is doomed and that most drivers will be better served by battery electric vehicles, the truth remains that hydrogen fuel cells are today the only future-scalable option for emission-free, lithium-free mobility.

However, this does not imply that their growth will be simple. There is almost no infrastructure for hydrogen refueling, but a dearth of lithium will put an end to the EV revolution in a decade or two. And that appears to be a significant opportunity for a hydrogen-based alternative.

That is why, in conjunction with Pininfarina, the Afro-European brand NamX has created an extremely elegant-looking "hydrogen utility vehicle" (HUV) fueled by replaceable hydrogen cartridges.

If you are unable to locate a hydrogen filling station, NamX will transport the cartridges to your home or anywhere you require them. According to the business, you will soon be able to use them to power other gadgets as well.

Every full cartridge contains enough hydrogen to travel around 150 kilometers. The HUV has six of them, for a total range of 800 kilometers.

The cassettes in their green neon-lit holes under the clear cover above the rear bumper constitute the vehicle's visual attraction in Pininfarina's design.

The base model, which will cost roughly $68,200, will have a rear-wheel drive with 300 horsepower, a top speed limited to 200 km/h, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.5 seconds.

The GTH version will have all-wheel drive, 500 horsepower, a top speed of 250 km/h, and a 4.5-second acceleration to 100 km/h, but will cost up to $99,600.
