The name of Audrey Hepburn, a Hollywood icon, has been a park in Brussels since Wednesday, located not far from the house where she was born in 1929.

At the entrance to "Audrey Hepburn Park", there is a bronze bust with her image, a copy of the one that was placed in Arnhem (Netherlands) in the 90s, where the actress' mother's family comes from. "There are now two busts in the two cities where she spent her childhood," said her son Sean Hepburn Ferrer, who attended the park's inauguration on the day the movie star would turn 93. The bronze sculpture was made at the request of the family by the Dutch artist Kees Verkade after the death of Audrey Hepburn.

Audrey Hepburn received the Oscar as a 23-year-old for the role of a princess in the film "Roman Holiday", in which she played along with Gregory Peck, and unforgettable are her roles in "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "Charade", "Love in the Afternoon" and "My Fair Lady".

Audrey Hepburn, real name Audrey Ruston, was born on May 4, 1929, in Brussels' Ixelles district. Her mother was from a Dutch aristocratic family, and her father was British and worked for the Belgian branch of the Bank of England. She spent the first years of her life in Brussels, and then, after her father left the family, she lived with her mother in Arnhem during the war, said Sean Hepburn Ferrer, a son born in 1960, from Audrey’s marriage to American film actor Mel Ferrer.
