The trailer for "His Dark Materials" is out!

After the second season of the series was chewed up by various problems with the coronavirus pandemic, HBO and BBC finally announced the last season of "His Dark Materials" series. The series is produced by Bad Wolf and New Line Cinema for BBC One and HBO. Executive producers are Dan McCulloch, Jane Tranter, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner, Philip Pullman, Jack Thorne, Tom Hooper, Deborah Forte, Toby Emmerich, Carolyn Blackwood and Ben Irving. The directors are Amit Gupta, Charles Martin and Weronika Tofilska. The upcoming season is based on the novel "The Amber Spyglass" written by Philip Pullman, as a conclusion of the Lumen trilogy.

The series follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but brave girl from another world. Her search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a dark conspiracy that involves stolen children and turns into an attempt to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. While traveling through worlds, including the one we know, Lyra meets a boy named Will. In the final chapter of this epic fantasy series, Lyra and Will must travel to the land of the dead, a place from which no one has ever returned. War is on the horizon against Heaven and the Authority, and therefore the Magisterium. That war is declared by Lyra's father, Lord Asriel. But as war approaches, Lyra and Will will discover that if they want to save the world, then they should pay a terrible price. Together they encounter extraordinary beings and dangerous secrets, and the fates of both, the living and the dead, are in their hands.

Dafne Keen is starring as Lyra, Amir Wilson as Will, Ruth Wilson as Mrs. Coulter, James McAvoy as Lord Asriel, Simone Kirby as Mary Malone, Will Keen as Father McPhail, Jade Anouka as Ruta Skadi, Ruta Gedminstas as Serafina Pekkala, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Commander Ogunwa, Jamie Ward as Father Gomez. Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Simon Harrison and Chipo Chung are starring as the rebel angels Balthamos, Baruch and Xaphania and Amber Fitzgerald-Woolfe as Ama.

The third season of the series premiered on HBO Max yesterday, with the first two episodes. Two new episodes will be shown every week until the series finale on December 26
