These are the worst series of 2022 (part two)
Yes, Netflix leads the way.
Was this a good year for the series? Yes. Was it also a bad year for the series? Also yes. Every year is both, the best and the worst for series because there are so many of them now. But one thing is sure, each of them has an audience.
This time we're going to concentrate on the bad, and if you're wondering, the answer is: Yes, Netflix leads the way.
Resident Evil
Let's face it, anyone who has at least once played any of the "Resident Evil" sequels knows very well that it is not a video game that has a good story. What's more, some of the best sequels have the craziest plots that are kept afloat by the fact that it's a fun game.
However, Netflix's attempt to revive the RE atmosphere and bring it to the small screen has failed at every turn. Whatever this was, it didn't win over either the loyal fans of the game or those who wanted a good and fun zombie series.
Stay Close
Has Netflix had a thriller series worse than this one? Definitely. Has he recorded a more ridiculous series this year? Not.
The series is based on Harlan Coben's novel of the same name, and its predictability is almost irritatingly obvious. Everything is littered with clichés and commonplaces, some of which you'd forgive if there was even a hint of charm.
Also, when we say the show isn't good, we don't mean it's unimaginably awful, it's just that it's so easy to forget whether you finish after episode one or episode eight.
Blockbuster
It's hard to decide whether the bigger problem is that it's unbearably witless or that it's unbearably unimaginative in its execution. The story of the last video library on paper seems like a solid idea that, with the right moves and original screenwriting solutions, could be much more than this. Of course, that could be written for any series, but this just feels like a much bigger missed opportunity.
