Toyota: Autonomous driving test in Texas

The Dallas trial will concentrate on high-speed roadways.

Toyota and Aurora extend their robotics collaboration to Texas highways. The two businesses will conduct an autonomous driving test in the Fort Wort region using modified Sienna hybrid minivans. The project's focus will be on highways and other expressways.

For starters, this is a tiny test, and vans aren't completely devoid of drivers. Each car will also have a supervisor driving and a monitor in the front passenger seat. Sienna, on the other hand, will be able to drive autonomously up to 112 kilometers per hour, while Aurora has stated that it would raise manufacturing and expand testing to more metropolitan regions in the coming months.

Aurora chose Texas for its plethora of important transportation routes to aid in freight transportation plans, as well as its potential to build and test high-priority travel for its Aurora Connect robotics platform, such as airport rides. In Texas, the company's trucks are already hauling items for Uber Freight.

Toyota and Aurora are under a lot of pressure to succeed in this test. Aurora purchased Uber's self-driving unit in December 2020 in order to accelerate its driving plans and connect Connect to Uber and other services.

The sooner such experiments show fruit, the sooner Toyota, Aurora, and Uber will be able to compete with competitors like Cruise and Waymo, which already provide driverless driving.

Alibaba with his own electric car

Alibaba is one of the world's leading internet retailers. The company was formed in 1999 by Jack Ma, who launched the alibaba.com website, which was dedicated to Chinese manufacturers conducting business with clients in other countries. Since then, the well-known internet store has had tremendous success. It is so unsurprising that it will soon offer for sale its own prestigious electric automobile, which will be known as the IM L7.

IM Motors created the IM L7 electric automobile for Alibaba. It is a joint venture created this year by Alibaba and SAIC Motor. The Alibaba IM L7 electric car will not disappoint, with 425 kW of power and 725 Nm of torque. It only takes 3.87 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour, which will keep passengers glued to their seats. All of this is made possible by powerful electric motors and a battery that should provide adequate autonomy for up to 615 kilometers (according to the NEDC standard).

Of course, the Alibaba IM L7 is outfitted with a variety of modern systems. The entire system is controlled by Nvidia Drive's powerful computer system, which works in tandem with 15 video cameras, 12 sensors, five radar systems, and a LiDAR system for light detection and object measurement.
