Many movie-lovers gave up on cinemas and they prefer to choose the comfort of their own homes enjoying streaming platforms. In the Netflix Bangers Facebook group, members weighed in on some of the best movies of the year and they picked the 10  movies they enjoyed watching the most.

Extraction 2

The sequel to Chris Hemsworth's 2020 hit "Extraction 2" managed to win over fans. The film's synopsis reads: "Returning from the brink of death, commando Tyler Rake embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue the imprisoned family of a ruthless gangster."

Pain Hustlers

Pain Hustlers sees Liza Drake (Emily Blunt) enter a dangerous criminal underworld in a thrilling crime thriller. The synopsis of the film reads: "After losing her job, a woman, struggling to raise her daughter, takes a job out of desperation. She starts working at a failed pharmaceutical start-up, but what she doesn't expect is the dangerous racketeering scheme she suddenly enters. "

The Deepest Breath

The "Deepest Breath" describes the harrowing ordeals experienced by divers testing their bodies to the limit in this documentary. The synopsis of the film reads: "A champion and an expert diver seemed destined for each other. Despite their different paths, they meet at the top of the world in freediving and experience exciting adventures and the inevitable risks of chasing dreams through the depths of the ocean."

The Mother

Jennifer Lopez continues to try her hand at acting and she managed to win over Netflix viewers in 2023. The film's synopsis reads: "While on the run from dangerous assailants, a killer comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she left behind."

Nowhere

Netflix continues to grow its international market, and its 2023 film "Nowhere" showed viewers the talent coming from Spain. The film's synopsis reads: "A young, pregnant woman named Mia flees a country at war by hiding in a shipping container on a cargo ship. After a severe storm, Mia gives birth to her child lost at sea, where she must fight to survive."

A Man Called Otto

Tom Hanks shows in this movie that he is still one of the leading movie stars. The synopsis of the film reads: "Depressed and lonely, a widower decides to take a drastic step. However, his plans are disrupted by a cheerful family that moves in next door."

Nyad

"Nyad" is likely to become another hit this year, and the true story of Diana Nyad has thrilled many viewers. The film's synopsis reads: "64-year-old swimmer and marathon runner Diana Nyad tries to become the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida."

Race to the Summit

2023 seems to be the year of documentaries featuring extreme athletic endeavors, and "Race to the Summit" does just that. The film's synopsis reads: "Intrepid mountaineers Ueli Steck and Dani Arnold enter into a deadly rivalry to set records on the north faces of the Swiss Alps."

Planes

The "Planes"  brought together Gerard Butler and Mike Colter in a surprisingly good action thriller that became a hit with fans.The film's synopsis reads: "Pilot Brodie Torrance saves passengers from a lightning strike by risking a crash landing on a war-torn island - where he discovers that surviving the landing was just the beginning."

Jawan

After the global success of RRR 2022, film buffs started enjoying quality films coming from India, most notably the action thriller Jawan.
