'What happened, Brittany Murphy?' / New documentary reveals gruesome details about the last days of the famous actress

Nearly 12 years after actress Brittany Murphy collapsed at home in 2009, mysteries still surround her shocking death, People writes.

Now a new documentary, “What Happened, Brittany Murphy?”, which will be available on HBO Max from Oct. 14, reveals more and more gruesome details about the actress’ last days and her relationship with her husband, Simon Monjack, 40, who strangely died five months after it from similar causes.

Monjack’s past is further explored in a documentary produced by Blumhouse Television, which includes interviews with Monjack’s mother Linda and brother James, as well as his ex-fiancée Elizabeth Ragsdale, who says he lied to her about who he was.

"When I came to my little studio in New York, I called him and he called me. I said, 'Simon, I've reached…' and before I could get that sentence out, he hung up. I got pregnant, and he abandoned me, ” Ragsdale says in the documentary.

He was an angry individual who used to deceive people, and Brittany was one of his last victims,” says director Cynthia Hill. "There was a pattern of behavior that became very obvious the more we researched."

Her death was so bizarre and there are so many twists and turns,” says executive producer Buddy Day. They point out that Murphy was very kind to everyone.

Makeup artist Trista Jordan, who appears in the documentary and worked with the actress on the latest 2009 film “Something Wicked,” says her appearance in recent months has been alarming.

Her eyes were so sunken and she looked so sad,” Jordan says. "She wasn't alone. She was in so much pain. She had Bambi's legs and couldn't get up," Jordan said.

"She was so generous, caring, and always thought of everyone else. Everyone loved her," Buddy Day says.
