Why Princess Diana Avoided Wearing Channel?

For many years, the Chanel fashion house has been regarded as one of the most renowned in the world, and wearing their products has long been considered a luxury. Princess Diana was one of the rare divas who refused to wear their outfits, and she had a good and tragic reason for it.


Even though she died two and a half decades ago, Princess Diana is still regarded as a fashion icon.
In addition to the Crown series, the film "Spencer," which was devoted to Diana and starred Kristen Stewart, received a lot of attention. Many others, however, were dissatisfied with Kristen's costume choices. At first look, everything appears to be good; the actress is wearing a red coat with the Chanel fashion house's trademark, and it is a reference to Diana's style from the Christmas Mass in 1993 when she was already considering a divorce from Prince Charles.


Furthermore, Kristen is a Chanel ambassador, so the decision is not surprising at first look. Chanel, on the other hand, is not the ideal pick for Princess Diana for a very essential reason.
She had a very complicated relationship with that brand and the fashion house.


Although Diana sported a wardrobe with the signatures of Versace or Dior, Chanel did not begin wearing until the end of the 1980s, and she only did so on rare occasions. Models aren't an issue either; in fact, Diana adored Karl Lagerfeld's creations.


The problem was - the logo.
In the documentary Diana: In Her Own Words, Diana recalls the moment she noticed the double C-shaped cuffs on Charles' husband's sleeves, which is the Chanel logo.
