Will Smith will star in a Disney film!

American actor Will Smith got his first role after last year's scandal at the Oscars when he went on stage and slapped his co-star Chris Rock. Everything happened because Chris made jokes about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

Smith will be cast in the sequel to Disney's "Aladdin" and he will play the genie from the lamp. Indeed this was his role in the first part, also. But some sources stated that this time Smith will have a much bigger role than in the first film. Filming should begin at the end of the year, and the script is still being worked on.

"This will be the first film that Will will be in since that slap at the Oscars and it's a real surprise that he's going to be in a movie for children. He's been working hard on himself all this time and he's hoping that the slap is in the past now," stated from Disney.

"It would be a shame if Smith didn't act"

"The first movie was very successful and it would be crazy not to make a sequel, and it would be an even bigger shame if someone else had to act in Will's place because of that incident at the Oscars. Disney will stand behind Will and bring him back to the big screen." said our source from this company.

The first part of "Aladdin" earned more than 900 million euros and was directed by Guy Ritchie. Along with Will, the film starred Mena Massoud, who played Aladdin, and Naomi Scott, who played Jasmine.

Recall, Will Smith said he "deeply regrets" hitting Chris Rock on stage during this year's Oscars. Smith explained why he didn't apologize to Rock during his acceptance speech after winning the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in King Richard.

"Then my consciousness was clouded. I sent Chris a message and he said he wasn't ready to talk yet and would get back to me when he was ready. So I'll tell you this Chris - I'm sorry. My behavior was unacceptable and I'm here whenever you want to talk," he said.
