Christian Bale’s physical transformations!
Actor star Christian Bale has physically transformed so many times because of his role in the film that no other actor is up to his knees.
Christian Bale is one of Hollywood’s favorite actors, and through so many years of his career, he shocked us countless times with his body changes for the roles that he embodied on the small screens. We are sure that no one can better portray the word ‘transformation’ than Christian Bale who has undergone such transformations in his career that many are amazed that he still does not suffer from severe health problems.
In the movie ‘American Psycho’ Christian got the role of a serial killer and a psychopath with a perfect look and body to be desired. He needed to prepare for this role and he said that while preparing there was no‘ cheat ’meal for him, all protein alone. He lived a life without sugar, good fats, and carbohydrates. With Patrick Bateman, physicality was more important than with any other character. His role was totally superficial and incredibly narcissistic. Of all the subsequent films he made, the most likely showed his best release in this one, because right after a somewhat disturbing businessman, he embarked on perhaps his most drastic transformation.
Anyone who watched ‘The Machinist’ from 2005 understands what we are talking about. For the role of Trevor Reznik, a factory worker suffering from insomnia, Bale lost 28 kilograms and appeared on the set as a man of 183 centimeters and only 55 kilograms. Still, the way he gained his weight is a bit intimidating. Namely, he consumed one apple a day, a can of tuna, and drank black coffee. Christian also smoked huge amounts of cigarettes.
And then six months later, another opportunity of a lifetime arrived - the trilogy ‘The Dark Knight’ as one of Bale’s greatest hits. They started filming the first part shortly after ‘The Machinist’ came out on the small screens. That means that strictly in just a few months, the actor had to gain an extreme 45 pounds.
‘I overdid it because I enjoyed overeating. I ignored the advice on how I should gradually regain my weight because my stomach was shrinking and that I should eat only soups. I immediately started with pizzas and ice cream and ate five meals in one piece, ' the actor once said. Since the team on the set also joked that he looked more like a fat man than a comic book hero, Bale started working on removing fat and increasing muscle mass with a much healthier diet than pizza and ice cream.
Next time, he got a role in the movie ‘The Fighter’ where he lost 13 pounds again because just before, he starred in the movie ‘Terminator: Salvation’. We get back to Batman, this time to the second sequel to ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ for which he was returning to the best possible form which he soon after ‘destroyed’ again due to the role of Irving Rosenfeld in the film ‘American Hustle’. He once again showed how to gain 20 kilograms in a short time.
He didn’t change for the needs of the cameras for a while, and then he surprised everyone with an amazing change for the 2018 film ‘Vice’. Many didn’t even recognize him in the role of the stocky Vice President of Disc Cheney, and he just proved that he really is the king of transformations. He gained weight again for the film, of course, and then lost more than 30 for the role of a British sports car racer in the film 'Ford v Ferrari'.
As the actor himself said, over the years his transformations have become more demanding, so he gave up on them a bit. Given that they were quite drastic, he concluded that he no longer wants to damage his health, and whether he will surprise us with another change, time will tell.
