Greta Thunberg: I’m very silly in private, I don’t plan on doing this my whole life

Greta Thunberg revealed for BBC that she does a lot of "strange" things in private and that she is a different person with friends and family than when she speaks publicly about the problem of climate change.

"I don't think people would recognize me if they met me privately. I'm not serious at all in private. I appear very angry in the media, but I'm not. Privately I'm too 'silly', maybe too much," she said.

She says she does not consider herself a star of climate change but as an ordinary activist.

"I don't think I'm going to dedicate my whole life and future to it. I'm still going to be an activist, I also don't think there's a moment when I say I'm stopping being an activist. It's not all black and white. I think when you feel you can't do more, but that's up for everyone to decide for themselves,” said the 18-year-old Swede.

Greta once mocked world politicians by saying that their messages were "Blah, blah, blah ..." which was met with numerous reactions.

"It's the role of activists, to organize marches, speeches, events. That's what we do, that's what activists have been doing since forever. It's not our job to be politicians, but theirs. Success would be for people to finally understand the urgency of the situation and realize that we are facing an existential crisis and we are going to need big changes,” she concluded.
