There is nothing more beautiful than when the smell of warm and delicious croissants spreads through the house. The crispy crust and airy inside make this pastry simply irresistible. If you want to prepare homemade croissants for yourself and your family, but you think that the whole process is too complicated, this recipe will convince you otherwise.
Ingredients:
• 3 eggs
• 300 g of flour
• 1 tablespoon sugar
• 150 ml of milk
• 1 bag of dry yeast
• 150 g butter
• 2 teaspoons salt
• 200 g ham
• 200 g of cheese
Preparation:
Beat one egg in a bowl, then add sugar, yeast, and heated milk. When everything is finely combined, add flour and knead the dough. Let it rest for 20 minutes for the yeast to activate. Pour a little flour on the work surface, then put the dough and roll it out with your fingers. Put 20 grams of butter in the middle, and then mix everything together. Make a ball out of the dough, then divide it into eight equal parts. Roll each part of the dough into a circle with a rolling pin so that it is at least 20 centimeters in diameter. Melt the remaining 100 grams of butter, then spread over each melted part of the dough. Stack the dough circles on top of each other in the baking tray, then place them in the freezer for 20 minutes.
When you take the dough out of the fridge, roll out a large circle with a rolling pin, and cut it into 12 triangles. Arrange the ham and cheese leaves on each triangle, then roll inwards, and then arrange them in a tray. Cover the dough with a cloth and leave it warm for at least an hour. Whisk two egg yolks and spread over the croissant. Bake them in a preheated oven for 10 minutes at 400, and then for five minutes at 350 degrees.
