Think about the natural lighting of the room

The choice of material depends on a couple of factors

If you remember the trend in interior design that highlights the natural, such materials will be the most suitable. When choosing a color, start from the existing interior in the room
Color: The choice of colors can depend on many parameters. The color of the curtains can be one or two tones lighter or darker than the color of the walls. Or you can choose a color based on the textiles in the room. The bedspread, sofa covers, pillows on the bed, and carpet can tell you which color is best. If the interior is in neutral and soothing colors, then the curtains can be emphasized by choosing a contrasting bright color.
Pattern: If you have wallpaper with a pattern, then it is better to choose plain curtains. The rule also applies in the opposite direction: if the walls are monochromatic, you can choose patterned curtains. In order not to overload the interior in another case, it is worth choosing curtains with a geometric print, it will help to visually change the space. A vertical strip will visually make the room taller, and a horizontal strip will expand the space.
Dimensions are important
As for the length of the curtains, the mandatory option is curtains almost to the floor. You can leave a few centimeters so that they do not collect dust and make cleaning easier for you. The ideal width of curtains is different for everyone because it depends on your wishes. Would you like them to cover the entire window? Do you have blinds and do you need wide curtains?
But there is a trick to finding the universal width of the curtains – measure the window frame and multiply by 2.5. And, also, remember that all the curtains in the room should be hung at the same height and be the same length so that the room looks unique and natural.
