'Incantation' : A new Netflix horror film

A new Netflix horror movie left viewers fearing for their lives after a TikTok user challenged them to watch it without skipping scenes.

"Incantation" hit the streaming platform at the beginning of this month and immediately became one of the most watched movies on Netflix, with more than 10 million hours of views so far.

The Taiwanese horror story was shot on the principle of "found footage", like the famous "Blair Witch", and the main character is a mother, Ruo-nan, who after disturbing a creepy shrine sets in motion a terrible curse. Soon after, all hell breaks loose, and Ruo desperately tries to protect her daughter from a terrible curse.

Directed by Kevin Ko, judging by the reactions of viewers, "Incantation", which the trailer claims is based on true events, is not for the faint of heart. After it premiered on Netflix, a TikTok user challenged horror fans to watch the film without pause.

"I don't care how hard you think, there's no way you can watch the whole movie from start to finish without skipping scenes," he said in his TikTok post, adding: "1 hour 16 minutes 22 seconds is the part that was the hardest for me to watch ."

Many accepted the challenge and shared their impressions on Twitter: "At least once I jumped in the air in fear or turned my head because of how fucked up some scenes in this movie are," one user wrote.

"We watched this and thought we were going to die", "That movie was the worst mistake of my life", "After two minutes I turned off the TV", are just some of the comments.

The film was released in cinemas in Taiwan last year, becoming the country's most successful horror film ever. However, it did not impress the critics too much. According to the website Rotten Tomatoes, it currently has a rating of 50% from critics and 58% from viewers.
