Jodie Foster: "It's a phase, but it's going on too long! "
Jodie Foster says in a new interview that superhero movies are just a 'phase' - but that it's going on a little too long for her taste.
The actress, who is currently rumored for winning an Oscar for her supporting role in Netflix's "Nyad" and will also star in HBO's "Tru Detective" stated in one interview; "It's a phase. It's a phase that lasts a little too long for me, but it's just a phase. I've seen so many different stages,"
"I hope that people will get sick of it soon. Those good movies of that kind — like 'Iron Man', 'Black Panther', 'The Matrix' — I admire those movies and I'm delighted with their entertainment, but that's not why I became an actress. And those movies don't change my life. I hope there will be other films soon," Foster added, and she also said that a recent film changed her life. Of course, it wasn't a superhero movie.
It's about the movie, the actress added, "Everything Everywhere All at Once," the family saga of A24 production that grossed over $100 million worldwide and won seven Oscars from 11 nominations.
"It's possibly my favorite movie of all time," Foster told foreign magazine. "It's a movie I'll come back to again and again, whenever I'm feeling depressed or sad," the actress added.
Recall, "Nyad " is a 2023 American biographical sports drama film directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin. This movie is written by Julia Cox. It stars Annette Bening as swimmer Diana Nyad, Jodie Foster, and Rhys Ifans. The film is Vasarhelyi and Chin's narrative feature directorial debut and it is based on Nyad's autobiography "Find a Way".
The 50th Telluride Film Festival which was on September 1, 2023, was the perfect place for its premiere. On the other side, this movie was released in select theaters on October 20, 2023, before streaming on Netflix. The first streaming on Netflix was on November 3.
Foster began her professional career as a child model and later as a teen idol in various Disney films including Napoleon and Samantha (1972), Freaky Friday (1976), and Candleshoe (1977).
