This year’s Met Gala went down in history as the evening when the iconic Marilyn Monroe's dress that she wore while singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to President John F. Kennedy in 1962,  was walked on the red carpet. The dress was worn by reality star Kim Kardashian at the Met Gala. She even lost seven kilograms for three weeks just because of her.

As soon as she stepped on the red carpet in the legendary dress, many resented Kim for wearing it at all, and some felt she didn’t deserve to wear it. And Kim is not benefiting from the new discovery about the condition of the dress after the Met Gala.

The Pop Crave portal posted on Twitter photos of the dress before and after Kim wore it, and the damage to it is visible.

‘Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress was reportedly damaged after Kim wore it. Traces of cracking can be seen and several crystals are either missing or hanging ', they wrote.

By the time Kim wore it, the dress was in a strictly guarded vault, and the Kardashian was the first to use it after the legendary actress. However, she wore the original creation for only a few minutes while she was walking the red carpet. After him, she changed into her copy.

Kim also revealed on her Instagram that this was not the only dress of the legendary Monroe she wore that evening. Namely, she later changed into another well-known creation. It is an emerald dress by Norman Norell that Marilyn wore in 1962 at the Golden Globes when she also received the award.

‘Looking for the Jean Louis dress I wore at the Met Gala, I discovered that Heritage Auctions owns the legendary green dress. In my further research, I discovered that the owner of her award is my friend Jeff Leatham. I saw this as a sign that all the stars were in order. This will forever be one of the greatest privileges of my life, ' Kim wrote on Instagram.
