Nicola Coughlan revealed what fears she struggled with ahead of the start of the "Bridgerton" series, which toppled everyone
The actress and one of the stars of the hit series "Bridgerton", Nicola Coughlan admitted that she was worried thinking that its premiere would destroy last year's Christmas.
“What if everyone hated it and say I ruined their Christmas?” Nicola, then 34, thought as she revealed in an interview with Radio Times.
But Nicola, who plays Penelope Featherington in the series, had no reason to worry because the series was watched by an incredible 82 million households worldwide in the first month. The actress thus broke down barriers between historical and romantic drama genres and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at this year’s Irish Film and Television Awards.
The first season of the series focused on the romance between Daphne Bridge and Duke of Hastings, who will not be played by Rege-Jean Page any longer to the astonishment of many fans.
The second season, whose filming is currently delayed due to the coronavirus, will focus on Daphne’s brother, Anthony Bridgerton, who will embark on a search for a suitable bride. The air date of the new season has not been announced yet.
