Romantic comedy with Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey

One of the most famous romantic comedies to which we are always happy to return is certainly How to lose a guy in 10 days '. Young Matthew McConaughey in the role of a soft-hearted boyfriend and Kate Hudson as Andie Anderson, who falls into her own trap in an interesting way, are simply always a good option when we want romance and laughter on the small screen.

Although we have watched the film several times, retold scenes from the film to each other and used popular lines in various conversations, there are still facts about the film that we did not know.

1. The role should not have gone to Kate Hudson

The role was previously offered to Gwyneth Paltrow, but now we can't imagine anyone else but our Kate Hudson as Andie. However, the director could not commit to a date, so Paltrow decided to leave the project. Kate Hudson became famous for her role in the film 'Almost Famous', which brought her a Golden Globe and led her to a role in this cute film.

2. Hudson was a great role model

The young actress spent the day shadowing 'Vogue' editor-in-chief Anna Wintour after she was cast as the magazine's ambitious columnist. "I ripped out all these instructions in Cosmo and Glamour," Hudson described her preparation for the role of Andie.

3. Matthew McConaughey was almost written off

When they starred in the film, Hudson was 23 and McConaughey was 33. Due to the 10-year age difference, the producers almost wrote off the attractive actor who drove female fans crazy. But Hudson "saved" him when she rationalized that her husband at the time, Chris Robinson, was 36 years old, so the production team decided to try with that acting couple.

4. The film is based on a picture book

It will surprise many that the film is based on the short picture book of the same name written by the same authors, Michele Alexander and Jeannie Long, and true fans will immediately recognize the words from the film. Namely, Andie's two best actresses, Michele and Jeannie, are named after the authors.

5. The diamond from the movie is worth 6 million dollars

Costume designer Karen Patch created the iconic yellow slip dress, especially for the film, and the goal was to highlight the diamond necklace, which is the main accessory of the entire film. That wow piece, 'Isadora Diamond', is named after the famous Isadora Duncan. The special 80-carat yellow diamond in the center was designed by Harry Winston and is worth $6 million.
