Sega announces the Mega Drive Mini 2

Throwing back a few years, we saw a little 'boom' for miniature retro consoles. Nintendo released mini versions of the classic NES and Super Nintendo consoles, while Sega did the same with the iconic Mega Drive. However, there are some differences in this second generation.

To begin, the Mega Drive Mini 2's design is influenced by the second iteration of the system, which was more square than the original one. The controller will include six buttons on the right side instead of three, which is a significant difference from the previous iteration.

Miniature versions of consoles that have debuted in recent years have come with pre-installed games. The Mega Drive Mini 2 will include 50 titles from both the base edition of the platform and the Mega CD peripheral, including "a mysterious new job," according to Sega, so the console will almost certainly be released.

Market with a game that did not exist at the time or is a new development to add value and appeal to the product For the time being, the following titles are on the list of confirmed games, which is not entirely complete:

  • Silpheed
  • Shining Force
  • Sonic
  • Mansion of Hidden Souls
  • Popful Mail
  • Virtua Racing
  • Bonanza Bros
  • Shining in the Darkness
  • Thunder Force IV
  • Magical Taruruto
  • Fantasy Zone

We'll leave you with Sega's YouTube transmission introducing the Mega Drive Mini 2. Aside from the system, a reduced version of the Mega-CD will be sold for 35 dollars. The cartridge that appears on top of the console at minute 92 of playback is the same.
