It was 'The Easiest Yes,' says Simone Biles about her engagement to boyfriend Jonathan Owens.
In 2020, the two young couples made their romance public. The Olympic gold winner and Jonathan Owens, a 26-year-old Houston Texans NFL player, announced their engagement on Instagram on Tuesday. Biles shared a photo of Owens proposing to her at a gazebo in Houston, Texas.

She was dressed in a black short dress while he was dressed in a grey suit. She also released a video of her gleaming oval-cut diamond ring, which is set with diamonds and has a diamond-encrusted band. "Woke up this morning with a fiancée," Owens said in his own post about the engagement, adding that his future bride-to-be had no idea what is going to happen.
Biles, 24, and Owens, 24, initially acknowledged their relationship on social media in August 2020 with a couple of images.
However, when Biles wished Owens a happy birthday on her Instagram Story a few weeks before that, her fans speculated that they were dating. They celebrated their first anniversary as a couple in 2021, however, they were unable to be together due to Biles' participation in the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Despite this, she took the time to commemorate the event with a social media post.
Biles has supported Owens during his football games, the NFL player has matched her devotion.
When Biles was forced to retire from several events at the Tokyo Olympics. She had to do that due to the "twisties" (a confusing condition that causes athletes to lose air sense of awareness and puts them in danger during competition). Owens was supportive in his posts on Instagram. Her boyfriend's work has been "very amazing" to watch and support. Simone said that she enjoys watching him play because he is so enthusiastic. She added that he puts in a lot of effort. The athlete added that it is exciting for him to be able to display that on the field. Biles clarified. "He's always, always there for me, making sure I'm on top of my therapy and everything," Biles added.
"He's the best because he understands the process because he goes through it [as an athlete]. It's been a dream come true to have him here."
