The first look at Netflix's feature adaptation "One piece"

For all "One Piece" fans, we have very good news, or at least we hope we have very good news. Namely, Netflix finally released the first poster and a look at the cast for their upcoming live series "One Piece", an adaptation of one of the most popular series. Also with the first look at the series came confirmation. The series will indeed arrive this year, but we still don't know when exactly. As for the poster itself, it, unfortunately, reveals almost nothing except for the main character, Captain Monkey D. Luffy, who has his back turned to us. 

The situation is similar with the first look at the cast. There is Luffy in the center again, and next to him is his crew of pirates, except that everyone's back is turned, and the only thing that can be said for now is that everything looks quite promising, epic, and appropriate.

The upcoming series "One Piece" is produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix. Showrunners, writers and executive producers are Matt Owens (Luke Cage, Agents of SHIELD) and Steve Maeda (CSI: Miami, Lost). Other executive producers are Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements and Eiichiro Oda , who is the creator of the series.

Starring Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenya as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

The Netflix adaptation was first announced back in 2020, and filming was completed in August 2022. For now, the series consists of 10 episodes of the first season, and as far as Netflix is ​​concerned, if the adaptation is not faithful and does not achieve very good ratings, it will hardly get a second season.

"One Piece" is a story about adventure, friendship and dreams. The plot revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a pirate with a dream to find the world's greatest treasure known as One Piece, in order to become the next pirate king. Along with the manga, which began publishing in 1997, Toei Animation has produced 20 seasons of the popular anime series, which has more than 1,000 episodes. Also, 15 animated films based on One Piece are made so far. Earlier this year, the franchise received an adaptation in the form of the video game One Piece Odyssey .
