The first trailer for the Netflix adventure: "We Have a Ghost"
The first trailer for the Netflix family supernatural adventure is out!
Netflix has released the first trailer and poster for "We Have a Ghost", which so far appears to be a cute genre comedy. Unfortunately, nothing really stands out in the trailer, except perhaps that the ghost is played by David Harbor (Stranger Things) and that one of the other roles is played by the always-striking Jennifer Coolidge (White Lotus). We don't expect the film to take us in any unusual direction, but if you're looking for a new family adventure to pass the time, it seems this will at least be a solid achievement. The fact that Christopher Landon is responsible for the direction should definitely support that idea (Happy Death Day, Freaky).
This film is based on the short story Ernest, written by Geoff Manaugh. "We Have a Ghost" tells the story of a somewhat dysfunctional family that moves into an old haunted house. Instead of the ghost terrifying and chasing them with its appearance, like everyone else, they decide to make money from this situation and they set up a YouTube channel, which will make the ghost and the family famous. This was totally unexpected!
The plot follows Kevin, a teenager who discovers Ernesto, a mute ghost that haunts the old house where his family has just moved into. When Ernest's existence spreads on social media, it attracts the attention of both, opportunistic merchants and the federal government. They will not stop until they capture this Ghost. Kevin will have to go on a journey to help Ernest escape from the CIA and also solve the mystery of Ernest's past so that his soul can find peace.
The rest of the acting crew are Anthony Mackie (Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Tig Notaro (Army of the Dead), Jahi Di’Allo Winston (Charm City Kings), Erica Ash (Survivor’s Remorse), Isabella Russo (Crashing), Niles Fitch (This Is Us), Steve Coulter (The Conjuring) and Faith Ford (Murphy Brown).
"We Have a Ghost" arrives on Netflix on February 24 .
