The new animated film from Pixar: "Elemental"

The new animated film from Pixar's workshop is "Elemental". The first teaser trailer and poster for this new movie were released a few days ago. The film is set in a lovely city where residents made of fire, water, earth and air live together in energetic harmony. In just a minute and a half, the teaser beautifully evokes the world of "Elemental" with extremely little dialogue. In the trailer, we also have a chance to meet the main character, Ember, at the crucial moment when she meets Wade. Although everything is very cute and beautiful, the teaser leaves us with a lot of questions. But since the movie was made by Pixar, we're pretty sure we'll get the answers to them, it's just a matter of time.

The director of the film is Peter Sohn (The Good Dinosaur, Partly Cloudy), and it was produced by Denise Ream (Cars 2), who collaborated with Sohn on the film "The Good Dinosaur".

"Elemental" is a new, original animated film set in the city named Element City. As we said, in this city, all inhabitants are made from fire, water, earth, and air but they live together. The story introduces Ember ( Leah Lewis ), a strong, impetuous and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, energetic, dashing guy named Wade ( Mamoudou Athie ) challenges her beliefs about the world in which they live.

The concept of the film has a cute origin story. The director told Entertainment Weekly that he was partially inspired by his parents, Korean immigrants who moved to New York before he was born. 

"Growing up, I always saw my parents in a certain way, but when I got into my twenties and got a real job instead of working in our family store, I saw them as people and not only my parents... That jump from parents to people really affected me. All the stories they told me about their journey here I took for granted until I said, 'Oh my God, they did this without speaking the language. They did it with no money. My dad made the hotdog stand with his hands. I could never do that.' My empathy for them grew.” Peter added.

"Elemental" arrives in theaters on June 16, 2023.
