How to avoid overeating: tips that can help you

An eating disorder can have various causes, from psychological problems to a lack of certain vitamins. However, it is often a matter of habit: a person simply cannot enter a balanced regime after long feasts.

Overeating leads to weight gain, which can have a negative impact on health. Even realizing the danger of regularly consuming junk food, many people still find it difficult to limit themselves. And this can turn into a vicious cycle that cannot be broken for years.

Sometimes people are so addicted to food that they make eating sweets an important part of their day - for example, they plan ahead to reward themselves with a huge portion of tiramisu at a friendly dinner at an Italian restaurant. And so – every day. However, there are still several ways that will help even the laziest and unwilling people to get rid of bad habits.

Vinegar and water cocktail
There is a theory that since the time of Cleopatra, women have been losing weight on a special vinegar diet. According to this method, it is necessary to drink water with a spoon or two of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice every day. This drink helps in dulling the feeling of hunger and accelerates the metabolism. However, you must be extremely careful, especially if you have problems with the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, after such a cocktail, you should rinse your mouth, because tooth enamel reacts badly to an acidic environment.

Set the timer
From the moment we start eating, it can take 20 to 30 minutes before we start feeling full. The fact is that our hormones need time to transmit the signal that a sufficient amount of food has entered the stomach. So next time, try setting a timer to stretch your usual serving time to 20 minutes. By the way, this technique is used in clinics to treat compulsive overeating and other eating disorders.

Eliminate the cause of stress
Constant anxiety is often the main cause of overwhelming food cravings. Stress makes a person more nervous: the body loses energy and resources faster, which leads to chronic fatigue and insomnia. And, unfortunately, a hearty dinner after a long day at work is almost the only way to deal with emotions. After all, even a light walk or, for example, yoga requires much more physical effort.
