Macarons originate from Italy. From there, they arrived in France in the Middle Ages, where over time the taste was supplemented and perfected. French macarons are made the way they were made in the middle of the 19th century by the French confectioner Pierre Desfontaines. He discovered ganache cream, prepared from sweet sour cream and chocolate, and realized that it was perfect for filling cookies.

Apart from being beautiful to the eye, they are also very tasty, and what will make you even more excited is that their preparation will not take you much time.

Ingredients:

For macarons:

  • 4 egg whites
  • 70 g of sugar
  • 230 g powdered sugar
  • 120 g ground almonds
  • a pinch of salt
  • food color as desired

For filling:

  • 150 ml of sweet-sour cream
  • 50 g of chocolate

Preparation:

First, preheat the oven to 150 degrees. Whisk the egg whites and sugar with a mixer until you get a firm sham. Then add the food coloring and stir for another minute. Sift almonds, powdered sugar, and salt twice to remove all possible lumps.

Gradually and carefully combine it with the egg whites, stirring constantly. The mixture should be smooth and thick. Place the baking paper in the baking tray, then shape the mixture into small balls approximately 2.5 cm in diameter. Leave 3 cm space between each macaroni. Let them stand for a while on the baking sheet.

You will know that they are ready to bake when they no longer stick to your finger when you touch them. Then put them in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes. Wait for them to cool before removing them from the paper. Heat the sweet-sour cream, then melt the chocolate in it and combine the macaroni with this mixture.

Do not press them with your fingers to prevent the filling from leaking out. It would be best to leave them overnight to "stick" nicely before serving.
