The Variety published its selection of the 5 worst movies

Variety, an American film magazine, issued a list of the five worst movies of 2022, as judged by its critics Owen Gleiberman and Peter Debruge.

Gleiberman's list begins with David O. Russell's "Amsterdam," a horror film starring Christian Bale and Margot Robbie that has been described as a "bizarre catastrophe," a horror picture that is both boring and perplexing.

Followed by "Minions: The Rise of Gru", as a sequel "which only serves to milk the cow to the end", and "Bones And All" with Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell "where almost nothing happens for two hours and ten minutes".

According to Gleiberman, "Incendiary" is a remake of one of the worst Stephen King adaptations, "which demonstrates that it can do even worse," while "Three Thousand Years of Longing," directed by George Miller, is a mainly vain adaptation of AS Byatt's work.

Debrugge put "Blonde" at the head of his list, whose director Andrew Dominique he accused of the shallowness of the part of Marilyn Monroe, performed by Ana De Armas, and labeled the entire film presentation of the legendary Hollywood actress as "ugly and ungrateful".

Variety's critic argues that filmmaker Jean-Pierre Genet "lost his mojo a long time ago" for the picture "Bigbug," while director Jude Apatow's comedy "Bubble" is another blank slate.

Debruge was wrongly cast as Chris Hemsworth in "Spiderhead," which was supposed to be a modest independent project, while director Simon Kinberg made the Oscar-winning combo of Penelope Cruz, Jessica Chastain, and Lupita Nyong'o look dumb in "355".
