Three foods that "clean" the lungs

Studies have shown that the consumption of certain types of food and drinks helps the body to get rid of harmful substances in the body.

Garlic

Many healing properties are attributed to garlic. They call it a natural antibiotic, a means to unclog the airways, a powerful plant with anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory effects that suppresses fungi and certain viruses. It contains allicin, which destroys respiratory tract infections, and many studies have shown that it is an effective helper in cleaning the lungs of people who are smokers, as well as former users of tobacco products. Garlic gives flavor to many dishes, and it has the most medicinal properties when eaten raw. However, keep in mind that large amounts of garlic are not recommended for people who have problems with the stomach and digestive system.

Ginger

Ginger also has many medicinal properties. It strengthens immunity, improves digestion, reduces bloating, reduces inflammatory processes in the body, and removes toxins from the lungs and the rest of the body, which is why it is recommended for (former) smokers. It is most often made into a tea or added to healthy drinks, and it can also be used as a seasoning for salty and sweet dishes. Ginger is very potent. You should not eat more than a piece of ginger about two centimeters in size per day. If you are not sure about the correct dose, consult a doctor or nutritionist.

Turmeric

Include turmeric in your diet, regardless of whether you have a fresh tuber or powdered spice on hand. Some studies have shown that this plant species from the ginger family improves lung cleansing of harmful substances as a result of smoking or living in a polluted environment. In addition, it prevents diseases in the respiratory system. Turmeric is traditionally used for curries and other Indian dishes, preparation of golden milk, and various healthy smoothies. To enjoy the anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric, mix it with a bit of black pepper.
