Dean Craig's black comedy: "Inheritance"
Dean Craig's black comedy has not been successful enough.
Dean Craig's black comedy has not been successful enough. At the end of the film, the viewer just laughs at the fact that he even remembered to sit in the cinema and chose this film to watch. Under the main title, we get to know the characters from the old-fashioned, clownish animation reminiscent of sitcoms.
But the story of scoundrels who want to acquire the fortune of a dying millionaire can be called a classic comedy scheme, and if we only got the funny situations offered by the narrative template, we would already be more satisfied - but in this case, they are not successful enough either.
To create a dynamic leading duo, Toni Collette and Anna Faris became siblings of completely different natures as Macey and Savanna. While the older sister is relaxed and unscrupulous, her divorced sister is much more prudent and moral, and less open. She is working on trusting someone again and embracing happiness. Therefore, it is not surprising that it is Savanna who will come to the conclusion that their only hope to save the family restaurant, which is on the verge of bankruptcy, is their extremely rich aunt. So she decided to visit her, to see if the elder Hilda (Kathleen Turner) would include them in her will.
But, arriving at the neat villa, it turns out that they were too late, they are not the only ones who came up with the idea of taking immoral advantage of the situation. Their cousin Beatrice (Rosemarie Dewitt) has already moved in to secure her place in Aunt Hilda's will with her fake concern, and Richard (David Duchovny) arrives in his Porsche, unable to stop his incestuous advances on Macey. We hope they had a lot of fun making the movie because audiences are sure to get bored watching it.
